By:Pioly-The chaos in this Denver suburb is a stark warning of what's to come with open borders under Biden/Harris.
For years, it has been acknowledged that several European countries contain areas referred to as “no-go zones.” These regions attract immigrants, both legal and illegal, whose unwillingness to integrate and adhere to the laws of their host countries has complicated enforcement efforts, often rendering them ineffective. A notable aspect of our 2018 article was its assertion that Donald Trump was correct: countries experiencing mass migration were facing rising crime rates.
Now, six years later and under a different administration, it is evident that, despite the lack of awareness among many local and national media outlets and law enforcement, the United States has at least one such “no-go zone” located hundreds of miles from the border, specifically in Aurora, Colorado.
The context is straightforward: Denver has established itself as a sanctuary city and is a leading destination for immigrants, with over 40,000 individuals residing in a city of 710,000. However, Denver is just one part of its metropolitan area, and the “no-go zone” in question is situated in the eastern suburb of Aurora, which itself has a population nearing 400,000.
In Aurora, characterized by the New York Post as “a quiet bedroom community,” three distinct apartment complexes have reportedly been overtaken by the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang. The issue became apparent when one of these complexes was deemed “unfit for human habitation” by the city. The management company claimed it was unable to resolve the problems, as its on-site property manager had gone into hiding due to safety concerns.
Former resident Cindy Romero expressed her distress, stating, “It’s been a nightmare and I can’t wait to get out of here.” She demonstrated to a local television station the extensive locks that she and her husband installed on their door due to concerns about potential break-ins. Romero, who has been displaced by gang activity, revealed that she and her husband ultimately felt compelled to vacate the complex due to intimidation. Following their departure, her apartment was quickly occupied by a migrant family, with Tren de Aragua managing the rental payments.
Aurora Mayor Mike Coffman remarked, “We’re a victim of a failed policy at the southern border.” He suggested that federal agencies collaborated with certain local nonprofits to facilitate the situation.
Jhonardy Jose Pacheco-Chirino, the alleged leader of the gang, has been arrested and deported multiple times since 2022. This pattern mirrors that of Jose Antonio Ibarra, the accused killer of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley, and may soon apply to numerous gang members now dispersed across the country.
Local authorities in Aurora face a challenge due to a state law that restricts municipalities from directly communicating with federal immigration enforcement. Douglas County Commissioner Abe Laydon stated, “Our local law enforcement would like the ability to communicate with local immigration officials.” He noted a significant rise in property crimes, assaults, and trafficking, particularly linked to cartels originating from Venezuela.
Aurora serves as a notable illustration of a broader issue stemming from policies that have facilitated the influx of illegal immigrants from various countries into American cities, both large and small. This situation has been exacerbated by insufficient border security, lenient asylum regulations, and the allure of available benefits—policies enacted by the Biden/Harris administration, which have seen inconsistent support from "border czar" Kamala Harris throughout her campaign. As succinctly noted by Not the Bee, the decision to admit over 10 million military-aged men, many of whom have criminal backgrounds in their home countries, raises significant concerns.
The challenges faced in Aurora, along with numerous incidents of violence, including murders, rapes, robberies, and drunk driving incidents in other areas, can be traced back to the open-door immigration policy initiated by the Harris/Biden administration. For Americans seeking to address these pressing issues, it is imperative to make informed choices in the upcoming November elections.
