Vice President Kamala Harris is employing what Rep. Dan Meuser describes as "dangerous" scare tactics against former President Donald Trump as Election Day approaches, rather than addressing substantive issues. During an appearance on Newsmax, the Pennsylvania Republican criticized Harris for her focus on disparaging Trump instead of presenting new ideas.
Meuser, who has been actively campaigning alongside Trump in Pennsylvania, expressed concern over Harris's rhetoric. He stated that her comparisons of Trump to Adolf Hitler are not only inappropriate but also reflect a lack of constructive dialogue. He emphasized that such remarks are both "nasty and low," undermining the seriousness of political discourse.
In a recent statement, Harris referenced comments from former Trump chief of staff John Kelly, suggesting they reveal Trump's true character. However, the Trump campaign has refuted Kelly's assertions, indicating a contentious exchange between the two political factions as the election draws closer.
Meuser indicated that the Trump campaign is experiencing a significant surge in support. He noted that individuals are feeling motivated and are aware of President Trump's previous accomplishments, expressing confidence in his potential victory with their backing and votes.
In contrast, Meuser pointed out that Harris has not proposed any changes from the policies of the outgoing Biden administration. He highlighted pressing issues such as an uncontrolled border and rampant inflation, criticizing her for allowing tax increases on small businesses. A recent poll in Pennsylvania revealed that a substantial majority of small business owners intend to support President Trump, as they believe Harris's policies would adversely affect their operations.
Meuser further criticized Harris for her stance on law enforcement funding and her inconsistent position on fracking, which is crucial for Pennsylvania residents. He emphasized that Harris's statements could exacerbate existing problems, while President Trump prioritizes economic concerns, which are top of mind for citizens facing rising grocery and gasoline prices, with no viable solutions proposed by the Harris-Walz administration. He reiterated that the border crisis remains a significant issue.
"They will not take action on it," he stated. "For the past four years, they have allowed it to persist. She is unable to conceive of any alternative approach. Supporting Harris equates to endorsing open borders, perpetuating high inflation, and undermining our national security on the global front."
Meuser also advocated for early voting.
"I participated in early voting," he remarked. "I visited the Bureau of Elections and cast my vote without any issues. I am confident my ballot was submitted. This method is strongly recommended and is being implemented effectively in Pennsylvania, especially among Republicans."
