Confronting Antisemitism: The Impact of an Israeli Artist's 'Knife of Emotion' at DNC Chicago

As protests against Israel unfold near the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago this week, supporters of Israel have launched a poignant art exhibit to commemorate the victims of the brutal Hamas attack on October 7. This initiative seeks to bring attention to the ongoing plight of hostages taken during the assault.

Titled "Hostage Square Chicago," the exhibit serves as a powerful reminder of those who remain captive in Gaza. The organizers emphasize the significance of this moment, as global attention is directed towards Chicago, urging attendees to exercise their First Amendment rights in support of both the United States and Israel.

Elan Carr, the exhibit's organizer, highlighted the stark contrast between the exhibit's message and the sentiments of the anti-Israel demonstrators. Artists involved, including Peretz and Neil Salti, aim to evoke deep emotional responses through their work, reflecting on the tragic loss of life and the ongoing suffering of hostages, with the hope of bringing them home.
